Physiological response to hypoxia conditions in cavity
FCE volunteers have participated in the medical and scientific study
The study by Joan López aims to investigate the effects of air in the cavities of the Garraf massif on the human body. The research focuses on the study of the physiological response generated by cavitary hypoxia.
In order to carry out this study, last weekend (17 and 18 May) the FCE volunteer speleologists entered the Avenc del Llamp to make a short progression through it. Before, during and after the progression, a whole series of data were recorded for further analysis.
The two days of testing were carried out without any incident and was also used to renew environmental measuring devices.
